2020 IWA Turkey Trot - A Run in Remembrance

November 11, 2020 - November 28, 2020 12:00 pm

COMING SOON

Welcome to the 10th Annual Turkey Trot benefitting
the Katie Campanella Visual Arts Scholarship!

Our 5K event will be virtual this year and will run from Wednesday, November 11th through Saturday, November 28th. The decision was made to convert to a virtual event to allow families and friends to participate and stay safe amid social distancing recommendations. We care deeply about our IWA families and friends, so we want to do our part to keep all of our guests safe and healthy. Although it might look a little different, we are so excited to be able to continue celebrating Katie's legacy with the IWA Turkey Trot again this year!

Guidelines for the 2020 IWA Turkey Trot - A Run in Remembrance:

  • You will be able to run or walk this year's 5K at any location you choose, at any time during the Turkey Trot date span of 11/11 through 11/28.
  • Gather your family and get creative! You can visit one of our fantastic city or county parks with your family, run through your neighborhood, or even trot on your treadmill...
  • Keep your desired pace and time if you wish, then post your results to our FINISH TIME PAGE. Final results will be posted on Monday, November 30th and medals will be awarded to our winners.
  • This year, we would also love for you to get creative with your Turkey Trot participation and get your kids involved in outdoor activities such as obstacle courses in the back yard. We will be awarding medals to all registered children who participate.
  • REGISTER BY NOVEMBER 1, 2020 TO RECEIVE THE MUCH COVETED TURKEY TROT LONG SLEEVE T-SHIRT. Your shirts can be delivered directly to you by the Alumnae Association, or if it is more convenient for you they can be picked up at IWA.
  • Be sure to use #IWATrot4Katie in your Turkey Trot 5K post on social media! Follow us on Facebook at (Incarnate Word Red Knight), Instagram (@iwaredknights) and Twitter at (@iwaredknights).

Visit our PADLET Page!

  • Upload photos of your participation and check out other fun photos of how people are partaking in this year's Turkey Trot!  Be certain to take lots of pictures along the way and share/post throughout Turkey Trot week!
  • We will be posting toolkits and How-to videos here to help you include your "Little Turkey Wobblers" (and those adults who still wish to behave like kids!) in a fun backyard event. Please visit the page often, as we will continue to update it with fun and creative ideas. We have already posted some cute obstacle course ideas!
